Black Music Honors (BMH), produced by Central City Productions, Inc. (CCP) in conjunction with the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM), is a music television special honoring legendary artists, musical genres and icons who have had a significant influence on society. To pay tribute to music’s rich cultural history in America, CCP and NMAAM partnered to celebrate the lasting legacies of music, the creative process, the art of music, and the prominence of music history. This year the two organizations honored six acclaimed honorees and a foundational music label, all of whom shaped the landscape of American music.
